Szilvia Kadas is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design and Digital Media at the State University of New York at Cortland, where she teaches Visual Design for the Web (UX/UI), Information Graphics, Graphic Design I-II, History and Theory of Digital Arts, and History of Graphic Design courses.
Kadas obtained her PhD in Human and Community Development at the School of Design and Community Development at West Virginia University and earned her MFA in Graphic Design from the University of Arkansas. In addition, Kadas received her MA in Art History from West Virginia University. She completed her Bachelor of Design degree in Visual Communication at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
Kadas examines the social, cultural, and environmental ramifications of design and its manifestations in human perception. She analyzes emerging design trends and values in the field of digital media. Kadas aims to contribute to the graphic design field through innovative teaching techniques informed by her theoretical research and socially conscious design practice.
